A little to warm water :((

my baby snapping turtle was put in warm water to warm for him by accident because my brother didnt know how to change his water but he is ok now that i put im in cold water and let him sit in cold water in my sink..while he was in the sink he kept opening his mouth like for air anhis neck was swollen with a bump..this was a few hours ago but he's still alive now and the bump went down...is he going to die.??pleaseeeee tell me no..my brother is so upset with himself he wont ever get over this..
