my tortoise has bitten my maid while washing the tank. how can i make him stop biting people's hands?

Take your tortoise out of the tank when cleaning, they bite if hungry of if scared...they also like certain finger nail polish colors, reminds them of a fruit ...

i have a redfoot tortoise and a russian tortoise and they never have bitten me.
