Blind Terrapin

Hi . I am Anne and i have had many problems with my baby terrapin. I got him from Malaysia . He has not been eating and his eyes are puffy and swollen . I brought him to my garden to walk two days ago and he opened his eyes the first time in two weeks. One side is just completely yellowish-orange with no eyeball and the other side as far as i can tell is perfectly normal . Some websites have said that it might be because of the water , but if so how come my other 2 terrapins do not have this problem?

Hi, I was checking under disease for Terrapins, I found one that might help, Terrapin Disease first one on internet, has lots of good information. I believe it would be the same care as for any turtle. I have a Map, so different, but i believe the basic information is pretty much the same, so go to that web site and hope it helps. take care.. hope he gets better.. sincerely, Susan.

The only way to know exactly what the problem is would be to take your terrapin to a veterinarian. What you describe does not sound good.
