Bloody skin and shell

by Sarah
(Vic)

Hi I have a long neck turtle believe to be of the age 7 and all of a sudden in the past couple of months he has seemed to really fat with his fat hanging infront of his back legs and his tail. I just noticed tonight that now his skin seems to be red where the fat is and what looks like the blood from his skin has seeped into his shell. I can't touch the blood I can only see it but when I touch his bottom shell I can swish this blood around. Please help me his given to me and I don't have a license and I'm scared if I go to vet they will take him away from me, but I want the best for him. Please please please help!!!

Sick Turtle
by: Shelly

Please take this animal to a vet as soon as possible. I can't say for sure what is wrong, but this is a very sick animal. You cannot care for this animal on your own. Only a vet can help this animal right now.

Keep it slow and steady.
