Can a Red-Footed/Yellow-footed tortoise live outside in Arizona?

by ANONYMOUS
(???)

Hi, i wanted to know if my tortoise can live outside here, i am getting it soon, and will keep it in a tortoise table, with a misting device/water sprinkler, to keep the humidity around 70% on the table, or would an aquarium be better for this?

on-topic: could it live in az, and during the winter bring it in at night and let it outside during the summer?

would this be okay for the tortoise?

KTHXBYE

Red-Footed or Yellow-Footed Tortoise living in Arizona
by: Shelly

Both the red-footed tortoise and the yellow-footed tortoise need humidity. I've never been in Arizona, but it doesn't have a reputation for being humid. These tortoises are on the large side to be kept indoors. A tortoise needs about three square yards of floor space for each foot of length (nose to tail). A male red-footed tortoise can be 20 inches long, a yellow-footed tortoise could reach up to 28 inches in length. These sizes are on the large side, but I think it's best to be prepared.

Keep it slow and steady.
