Can a Turtle scratching an open wound cause a salmonella infection?

I was holding my pet turtle and I didn't notice a cut I had on the palm of my hand. My turtle shifted his leg and his leg hit the wound. I washed my hands afterwards, but is there any other precautions I need to take? Is there any danger of actual salmonella infection?

You did the right thing in washing the wound right away. I would see a doctor just to be sure there is no further problem.

Keep it slow and steady.
