Circling Compulsion

My Elongated tortoise (palm size) past two days, has been making small circles around for hours at a time in the morning instead of the usual sleep routine. One foot seems more blackish? (bowel and urine as usual). Is this nutritional deficiency? Or what?? No vet in the area.
