Do i require a licence for a red footed tortoise?

I have a friend that has offered me a red footed tortoise, she has no papers for it, but i was led to believe it needed a licence! Is this true?

As far as I know, you don't need a license for a red footed tortoise. To be really sure, you could contact your local wildlife office.
