Giant Growth on my turtle Face!

I have two 1 year old RES that are about 2" each. My male has very recently developed a lump on the side of his face and I dont know what to do about it. What could this lump be? I have read that it can eather be extra skin, an ear infection, or cancer so Im totally confused. I dont have very much money and I was thinking of taking it to the local Turtle Rescue group because they will treat the turtle and addopt them out, this is an option for me because even though I love my turtles to death I know im not an expert and they should be with someone that knows exacly what they are doing and have money to care for them. But my other option was to take it to the vet and have him treated, but like I said, I dont have very much money. So should I take him to the vet and have him treated? if so about how much will it cost? Or should I take him to the turtle rescue?

Good for you

First of all, you care about your pet, which is a very good thing.

Second, you have done some research about what the problem could be. Without an examination, no one can tell you more than that.

Finally, you know the animal needs help and you have figured out how to get it that help. Taking this pet to a rescue center that knows about reptiles will give it the best possible chance.

And maybe they'll take a look and tell you something you can do yourself.

A suggestion: Offer to volunteer at the rescue center. This will help you to learn more about the animals, and it will help the center.

Keep it slow and steady.

PS I would love to know how this turns out.
