greek tortoise trying to escape cage

why would he or she be trying to get out of its cage for the first time in 3 yrs? its going to hurt itself if it doesnt stop.

If he can see outside of his enclosure he will become very anxious. Otherwise he is bored and needs to have a larger area to explore.
