Tortoises

I'm also having trouble trying to figure out which one to buy, I've been to a garden centre which sells Hermann's but it is quite a lot of money. The tank/enclosure is £219 and the tortoise is £125. I've been looking around but I can't seem to find anything different that is a bit cheaper. Therefore I'm thinking of looking at a Horsfield to see if the price is any lower. I just cant seem to find any websites that help me do that. If you find out any information then it would be great if you could post it!

hermann's or horsefield?
by: Shelly

Hermann's will have a horny claw on the tail tip and 2 dark stripes on the plastron. The scutes flare out over the back legs. I has a higher dome.

Horsefield tortoises have a lower dome.

When you look at the two together, you may be able to tell the difference.

They do look similar to people who don't know the difference.

Keep it slow and steady.
