How big is the enclosure?
Is it opaque or clear?
An animal needs enough space to move around, and the space needs some interest.
If the enclosure is clear, the animal will want to explore what it can see through the glass.
Keep it slow and steady.

Climbing Tortoise

1. Be sure the box is large enough.
2. Your tortoise will be more content if he can't see out.

For a change keep your turtle outside the tank for sometime at least for 10 to 15 minutes after 2-3 days.
