You may find experiences in some older posts of people that tried housing rats or even different species of tortoises together. These both turned-out poorly. You might put an animal in with your tortoise that will simply play with your tortoise; but what seems like simple fun to a kitten will be traumatizing for a tortoise and will cause stress if not some physical injuries. In the wild, tortoises live a solitary lifestyle, and in captivity they generally prefer the same (with some exceptions). I hope this helps.
