how old is my hinhgeback turtle

we just rescued a male forest hingeback turtle/tortoise from a pet store. He is about 4 1/2 to 5 inches in diameter.


If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

There are different types of hingebacks. The smallest is about half the size of the oldest. Yours seems on the small side, so it would not be very old, but I can't say just how old.
