I think my red ear slidder might be dying!!

My red ear slider has been acting fine, me and my boyfriend have been gone all day when we came home we found him floating on top of the water i thought he was dead then we touched him and he moved his feet a little so we picked him up and put him in a little container now hes just lying there every once in a while he will old his head up strech his neck out and make a weird noise he has never done this...he has always been happy and we provide a good home for him...we also have another on and he is doing just fine..it 8:00pm so i cant take him to the vet...please help me!!!
