i think my red eared slider turtle is sick

i just got a red eared slider a few weeks ago. this past week she has stopped eating, she doesnt even show interest in food. she also seems to be sleeping alot and i have not noticed her swimming. also, i have seen her scratch at her eye. is my turtle sick?? :(

i took her to the vet. they said she needed more vitamin A and gave her a shot so hopefully everything will be better! :)

Your red eared slider is quite possibly sick. He may have been sick when you got him. It's always a good idea to take any new animal to a vet for a check up so you are sure everything is OK and you can get your questions answered.

Please make sure this little one gets a check up. It would be great it if you could post back here to let us know what happened.

Yes, it's probably sick. The big thing is the scratching at its eyes. There may be other problems too, like with diet, etc., but I'd get this one to the vet right away.
