Our tortoise got out of our yard and we just found her injured. Her shell is cracked in two places and she is bleeding. We have her on antibiotics and she is acting fine. Will she survive with this kind of injury?
The shell will need to be repaired, and that's a job for a vet. The vet will do the delicate necessary cleaning of the wound. You do NOT want the shell to heal over a wound that contains ANY infection. Any open wound involving the shell is potentially dangerous.
