Injured turtle

I just got a box turtle as a gift. She has been doing fine until yesterday i noticed she didn't come out to eat. So last night i got her out of her little cave and was looking her over and her underside felt a little soft. I was brushing away the dirt and i saw some blood. She ate the food i gave her before she went back under her cave. This morning i went out to see her and i got her out from under her cave and now i've noticed she isn't using her back left leg. Please help don't know what to do. I feel so bad that she injured.

I wouldn't say she's injured. I'd say she's sick. She could have one of at least two things, maybe both, and maybe something else entirely. You really need to see a vet as soon as possible.

First, the blood could be from a blood infection.

Second, the soft shell is probably from a lack of calcium. You need to provide calcium in the diet. Then you also have to provide UVB lighting so she can metabolize the calcium.

So do please see a vet to get her the help she needs.
