is my tortoise in season?

I have a Herman tortoise and she is about 5 years old. She lives alone and has plenty of space to move freely. She has been continually ramming the side of her viv and when we let her out she seeks out either shoes or slippers and trys to mount them making a very funny squeaking noise??? She has also become a little aggressive and has started to bite us?? Also I was also wondering is there a possibility that she may not be a girl?? I had her sexed when she was very young and i am beginning to wonder if she is actually a he. She is also not eating very well and when you put food into her viv she will shift it all over the place and continually bash it out of the way?? I have never seen this behaviour before. Please advise

Girl or boy?

As I read your comments, I was wondering whether you had a male. When a tortoise is young, it can be hard to tell.

I made a page about sexing a tortoise.

Keep it slow and steady.
