my turtle keeps opening his mouth wide open and staying like that for a very long time also he seems to be very jumpy his a musk turtle anyone know what could be wrong?
Have you checked that you have the water, ambient and basking temperatures right? It is possible if you have the temperatures too high he/she is trying to release heat as turtles and lizards can open there mouths wide to try and lower their temperature. If all the above are ok then I would also advise a vet as it can be respiratory. Good luck
