is my turtle sick?

on the bottom of my yellow bellied sliders shell, the center is kind of poofy and soft. does it mean it's sick?

Yes, that could be part of the problem.

Do be sure your pet gets enough calcium or the lamp will not be enough. You can sprinkle calcium on food or put a cuttlebone where your pet can find it and help himself.

thanks, but I figured it out. I had the wrong lamp. well not the wrong one, but I only had the basking lamp. I just bought a UVB/UVA lamp. i hope this fixes her!

The answer is probably yes.

If your turtle is very young, a soft shell is normal, but if it was hard and became soft, and if it is not normal in any way, there is something wrong inside.

You should see a vet as soon as possible. Several things could be wrong, and only a physical examination can tell you which one is true for your pet.
