long neck turtle red spots on shell

I have just gotten my 2nd turtle she is an eastern long neck I have been told she is 3 yrs old, I am concerned because she has 4, 5cent piece size red spots on the top of her shell and larger ones underneath her does any body know what this is and how I can treat in, and if it wil harm my healthy turtle
