marginated tortoise british hibernation patterns

im thinking about getting this particular species of tortoise. from what I roughly understand, they can live outside in british summer, have to be inside in spring, autumn. and hibernated in winter for 2-3 months. i wonder if anyone could give me a more detailed explanation of this pattern for ENGLAND. as i cant find any for england, only usa. thank you x x x
