Mixing Baby RES with adults

by Shelby Helm
(Leavenworth, KS USA)

I have a new small maybe 4" docile male RES, and I have 3 tiny babies a little bigger than a Silver dollar. Can they survive together or with he try to eat the little ones. I have him in a 55 gallon tank with another make that's kind of a jerk, I just removed my female into a 65 gallon tank to get her away from him. Now I bought "Squirt Squirt" and he seems to kind of hide a lot and stays curled up in his shell with his head facing under a rock, and I can't help but wonder if "Sawyer is picking on him. Squirt seems very gentle, and actually a little slow...lol, but I don't want the babies hurt. I really have no room for more tanks. I have 55 65 and a 40 long. What do you think?
