my tortoise is blind

MY tortoise won't open its eyes, won't eat. He had made wheezing noises since quite some time. May I know what's its condition?

my tortoise is blind

Hi, sorry to hear about your tortoise. I would say you have two things going on and one led to the other. The wheezing sounds indicate he has a cold, and the closed eyes indicate that he has not been getting vitamin A. I would say the respiratory problem (cold) has put your tortoise off from eating, therefore not getting the nutrients he needs, ie. romaine lettuce, vit A, calcium, B Vitamins, etc... Now is he getting the warmth he requires from either the sun, and or UVA bulb. for warmth and a UVB bulb to help metabolize the Nutrients from his food, which keeps his eyes bright and healthy, and his shell hard.. You might have to see a Vet that specializes in Reptiles... I hope he gets better and that I have helped...sincerely, Susan.
