My Tortoise Sleeps and Is Not Eating

by Natalie
(Cornwall)

My tortoise is not eating and he sleeps a lot. I let him out in the day and bring him in in the evenings. He just sleeps. The only thing that is stopping me in hibernating is that he wakes up in the mornings in his box. When is he going to go into hibernation?

Advice on getting a tortoise ready to hibernate
by: Rodney

Depending on what species of tortoise you have it could be going into hibernation mode.
I would check out the following hibernation advice from the Tortoise Trust.

I have a Hermann's and will start winding him down for hibernation at the start of December for a 10 week hibernation
