Names for Hibernating Tortoise

How do you name your tortoise when you don't have it in front of your face to see what matches your tortoise. I am buying it when they come out of hibernation.

Naming a Tortoise

Why not wait until your tortoise comes out of hibernation? That way you can observe your tortoise closely to see what sort of name fits.

If you simply must have a name before the tortoise arrives, consider what sort of tortoise you will have. Maybe you can name your tortoise something that matches the part of the world it comes from.

Or maybe you can name it for something you know about that sort of tortoise.

Maybe you can choose a name that honors a family member or someone you admire.
