new tortoise

Hello, we have a 2 year old horsfield tortoise. Can you tell me how much they eat and how often approx? and we have all the lights and bulbs that are required but we are unsure as to whether they both stay on all the time?

Every tortoise will eat a varying amount. If you put out the right food, your tortoise will eat as much as it needs. In a few days you will have a good idea of how much your tortoise needs.

The lights should not be on at night. Keep the temperature above 12 degrees C.

When the lights are on be sure there is an area where the temperature is lower so the tortoise has a chance to cool off if he needs to.

Keep it slow and steady.
