My Red - Footed Tortoise hasn't opened its eues for a whole week! I've looked in books and everything, trying to figure out if it means the tortoise is ill, or if its normal. Please help!
This is NOT normal. It is possible that instead of closed eyes, you are looking at eye that are covered by encrusted pus. This is a very serious condition and can be dealt with only by a professional. You don't want a tortoise to go blind because it uses vision to find its food.
