PLEASE HELP !

My mississippi map turtle has soft shell syndrome . I bought him 6 days ago and had no idea . I new something was wrong because he would not move or swim just sat on the rocks . And tonight I took him out to examine him and his shell and under belly is very soft . I need to save him , I am extremely upset knowing he is in pain . I have moved him to a shallow tank . But I am in need of advice on how to treat him . I do not want him to die .
