poorly tortoise

i have just bought a tortise from a frends friend and its just over a year old it was cold when we got it its shell was a bit soft and he wont walk i have to feed him so he will eat and put him to bed as he would be cold if i didnt i just need sum advice please

you have a sick tortoise

Your tortoise is sick. Possibly very sick. To deal with what could be multiple problems, see a vet, preferably one that has experience with tortoises, immediately.

I suspect this tortoise has had poor diet and possibly poor living conditions.
