My Russian tortoise is approx 6 years old and appears to be in good health. I have just noticed that a large scale on his face (between eye and mouth) is loose. It is approx 5mm x 3mm. I know that reptiles shed degrees of skin but is it normal to looses a large scale like this in one go?
