Russian Tortoises Fighting

Hi,
My two Russian Tortoises (male and female) have been together for over 4 years. However, they've been snapping at each other for the past months. I'm wondering why this might be?

The most important thing is to give both animals enough to room to get away from each other. If they keep attacking each other, someone may get hurt.
