Safe diet for juvenile snow leopard totoise indoor habitat

by Mel
(San Diego)

My juvenile snow leopard tortoise is new to me. While I have had my California desert Tortoise for 45 years, I see just a few differences in diet and am concerned. For example my desert eats all dark greens, Hibiscus flowers rose petals, kale, grapes, bananas, melons berries. I'm told no fruit for the leopard and I got him Timothy hay and have picked a few dandelions and brought them in for him but what else is available. I am in Southern California.

Thanks

by: Shelly

A snow leopard tortoise diet can include a mix of:

weeds
wild grasses
alfalfa
flowers
mixed dark green veggies

Be sure that none of the food has been exposed to pesticides.

Stay away from the poison plants listed at

Keep it slow and steady.
