Shaky Hands

I have a red-eared slider recently we got another turtle which we believe it to be a yellow-bellied slider. WEll the yellow-bellied slider usually bothers our red-eared slider. And sometimes we catch the red-eared slider sticking his arms out and kind of shaking them. What does this mean? Please keep in mind the red-eared slider is larger then the yellow-bellied slider.

Mating
by: Shelly

What you are seeing is mating behavior. A male red eared slider turtle will "tickle" the face of a female as part of the mating ritual.

Keep it slow and steady.
