That happened to my tortoise and I asked the vet and she said it was probably because he was not warm enough after he died :( but I got a new one and he is now happy and heathy I have had him for 7 months now :)

Your tortoise probably has an eye infection. It needs an antibiotic and possibly Vitamin A. A vet can give the correct medication and tell you the correct dose for your animal.
