hi, you should give your totoise a tank with a uvb light and heat lamp and then sprinkle reptiluxe calci-phos on the food then he/she should keep healthy!

A soft shell means the tortoise does not have enough calcium. It needs to get calcium in its diet. But besides that, it needs sunlight to metabolize the calcium. If your tortoise does not get enough sunlight, you have to provide UVB light. A pet shop should have this sort of light and be able to tell you how to set it up.
