soft spot in shell

hi my murray short necked turtle`s shell is going soft just at the tail end of his carapace.

will calcium blocks/mix fix this or is it more sinister?
also his skin is peeling

A certain amount of skin peeling is normal.

Calcium is often a cure for a soft shell. But if the damage has other underlying causes, it would e best to see a vet.
