Squeaking????

What does it mean when you turtle starts making squeaking noises? I'm not used to hearing my turtle make these noises, and Speedy has been around for a while... So, I don't know what it could be and that's why I am here asking and trying to figure it out. <3

My step-mom(She's awesome) thinks that it's that he is calling other turtles... Not really sure if he is male or female, but we've all been saying he... named him Speedy...
Not saying to the opposite sex, but just other turtles all together... Also, we're not really certain on what type of turtle he is. <3
