I would like to know how much time does a Star Tortoise need to get sunlight in a day. Also, can these tortoise swim like turtles if kept in bucket of water.

our stars have been put in water bucket half filled since they were 6 months, they enjoy their swim for 25 mins. I wonder why people do not put them in more water than below their mouth. Tortoise are more calmer in more water than their height. We had a star of 7 years as a guest, he use tobe very aggresive in less water, but when we put him in more water he was quieter. The above are our observations only, please consult a vet for more appropriate advice.

YOU CAN KEEP YOUR TORTOISE IN A PLASTIC TUB OF SOME BIGER SIZE. YOU HAAVE TO KEEP TORTOISE IN WATER TUB ATLEAST FOR 20 TO25 MTNS OR UNTIL TORTOISE TRIES TO COME OUT FROM THE TUB ONCE AGAIN I AM REQUESTING YOU TO FILL THE WATER IN TUB BELOW TORTOISE'S MOUTH.
