they are ,shy, talk to your terrapins let them see your hands and face, after some time they should let you stroke the back of their necks, i,ve had my two six months they are now my mates. and no i,m not crazy lol.

It is just scared/alarmed with its sudden change of surroundings. Leave it alone. But if it does not eat, then it is a matter of concern.
