terrapin shell health

hi I have three fully grown red eared sliders that I rescued recently and one of them had suddenly got a little hole in the underside of his shell. I can see his silvery flesh through the hole but its not bleeding or anything, does anyone know what might cause this ?

Any time there is a hole in the shell, you need to see a vet. The wound needs to be cleaned and you need to guard against infection.

Best wishes.

Possibly one biting the other, are they inside or outside, possibly a bite from a predator, may get infected, you will need to get to a vet to be sure he doesn't...
