I just got my Russian Tortoise a few days ago and I have the same problem, but now he has done it so much he has rubbed some of his scales off of his arms. I have but a border around my glass cage but it still isn't working. What should I do?????

i just got my russian tortoise yeseterday and it was doing that i'll try what you said i check on it every single hour i love it so much! i hope it stays with me for more than 40- 50 years!

Try making it impossible for your tortoise to see through the cage. Most tortoises don't do well in glass containers.
