Eating cheese is not good for a tortoise because it is protein. Most tortoises don't do well with protein.
That said, if you gave only a small bit, just keep an eye on your pet. If it behaves differently in the next day or so, see the vet and explain about the cheese. Otherwise, you should be OK.
