I am living in Easter Europe and have just found a Tortoise Shell, can you tell me if Hermann's Tortoises discard there shells at anytime during their life cycle.

The shell of a tortoise is part of its skeleton. A tortoise does not shed its shell. Reptiles like snakes will shed skin when they grow. The tortoise shell grows along with the rest of the tortoise. The shell you found means a tortoise has died.

Keep it slow and steady.
