true aligator snapping turtles

by Pattie
(Portage WI)

A friend couldn't take care of her turtles anymore so she gave them to us. My husband is very familiar with turtles but when he saw the insides hanging out of one of them and it looks like the other one may have tried to bite it we don't know what to do. It's not tore off but its bleeding a little and it wont go back in. What should we do?

i would seperate the turtles, put them in their own container.i'd tape up the hurt turtle and keep an eye on him or call a vet and see what he says. i have a small snapper that i found on the road last summer.i also found a painted turtle. they are in the same tank and they get along.
