I think you should see a vet. Maybe there's something you can do.

Beak gets stuck
by: Anonymous

My box turtle often retracts her head and her beak seems to get stuck. I try to help her unstick it with a plastic knife and talking to her quietly but I am not sure why she does this. I am afraid her shell is getting thick at the top where her lower beak gets stuck.Sometimes she will stay this way for days.Maybe I am feeding her wrong!Help!

Usually normal

My box turtle does this too, he will bury himself partially and hide in his shell. It is normal behavior for mine, it helps him feel secure when he's sleeping or if there's too much light. You could always ask a vet though if he's showing strange symptoms with it.

When your turtle acts weird, take it to the vet. The vet an tell you what is wrong.
