Unusual Behaviour in Map Turtle

Hello,

We have got a 8year old female Map Turtle that we have had from when she was tiny. Murtle is very attention seeking and likes to be hand fed, but this morning i have found her on her rock basking with her head inside her shell and she seems scared of something. At first i thought she was sleeping but on close inspection she was awake, but she seems nervous and not her usual lively self. Any ideas as to what could be up with her would be much appreciated or is this usual behaviour?

Many thanks

J Anderson

If your pet acts in a way that is not normal, it is best to check it out. You've come to the Internet for help, and that's a good start. But without seeing the animal, no one can tell you exactly what is the problem. It would be good if you could get a vet to have a look.

Keep it slow and steady.
