Hi I lost my Russian tortoise many times and found her every time but what helped me is I know the places where she likes to sun bath and that is where I always find her. Hope this helped!

Hi there,not sure about their instints. Our tortoise was hiding at the base of the tree in our backyard. They are very deceiving because how much they camouflage themselves with their shell. We looked in the same areas at least a dozen times and finally found her. Good Luck!

i have lost my red foot tortoise and it has been a week! Will it survive? Also do they have an in-stink of coming back?

Hi there! Thank you so much for your help.She was under the base of our big oak tree in the corner of our backyard! She had to spend the night outside but she survived!! Thank you so much for your help! :) We are so relieved,thanks again!!

they like to get under high weeds.i have a redfoot and a russian tortoise. i take them outside once in a while.two weeks ago i had them out and the russian tortoise came up missing,i couldn't find him. he was found 4 days later under the bush by the house,he was ok,he must have ate weeds to keep alive. good luck.
