My old (60+) gopher tortoise has a protruding, scale-like growth (1/8 inch) on the outside of its lower jaw . It does not appear to interfere with his eating or picking up his greens and taking them into its mouth. I am concerned that it could be cancerous and could harm him or shorten his lifespan.
